For 40 years, Goss dedicated his career to Lowville Academy and Central School, serving in multiple roles that included teacher, varsity coach, and athletic director. During his 23-year tenure as athletic director for the Lowville Red Raiders, he became one of the region’s most respected advocates for interscholastic athletics and student development.
Throughout his career, Goss helped oversee significant improvements to the school’s athletic facilities. Under his leadership, the district completed projects including a multi-sport turf complex and a modern track facility, expanding opportunities for student-athletes and strengthening the school’s athletic programs. Following severe flooding that damaged school athletic facilities, he played a central role in coordinating recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Beyond Lowville, Goss was active in New York high school athletics. He served as president of NYSPHSAA Section III, chaired Section III boys lacrosse, and previously led the Frontier League. After retiring from Lowville Academy, he continued supporting student-athletes as assistant executive director of the Frontier League.
